Selected Accomplishments

 
  • Honored recipient of a 2001 Citation from The Council of The City of Philadelphia for improving the quality of life for untold thousands of citizens of The City of Philadelphia.
  • Manager of the $100 million dollar Revitalization Plan for the Mill Creek community. HUD awarded the Philadelphia Housing Authority $40.2 million dollars, in 2001 HOPE VI grant funds, towards the transformation of the Mill Creek community in West Philadelphia. The HOPE VI Grant will be used to replace aging public housing units with 627 new housing units; including an array of Community Supportive Services and Economic Development programs designed to assist residents achieve self-sufficiency. This is a mixed-finance proposal wherein the balance of the funds will be made up of other state, local and private contributions.
  • Manager of the approved Revitalization Plan (RP) to remove obsolete public housing and build 178 newly constructed affordable housing units in North Central Philadelphia. The $39 million dollar RP includes an array of Community Supportive Services and Economic Development programs designed to assist residents achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Recognized by the Who’s Who Historical Society as one of the newest members to appear in the 2000 edition of International Who’s Who of Information Technology, having demonstrated exemplary professional achievement and distinguished contributions to the IT community.
  • Biography has been selected for inclusion in the 2001 edition of International Who’s Who of Entrepreneurs.
    Appointed Oversight Committee Chairperson for the Tree of Concern International Foundation’s Neighborhood Bed and Breakfast Initiative. Advise, monitor and package findings generated from sessions held with a team of hospitality, banking and accounting executives, law partners, neighborhood community development experts, developers and resource development consultants into a business plan to create urban neighborhood bed and breakfast villages.
  • Honored member of Who’s Who Worldwide and included in the 1993/94 Who’s Who Registry of Global Business Leaders for demonstrating outstanding leadership and achievement in their occupation, industry or profession.
  • General Manager in the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) responsible for the neighborhood planning, project management and development of affordable housing in Philadelphia. (1997 - 1999)
  • Managed the design and development of ten Community Based Management Offices (CBMO) for PHA’s 7,000 unit scattered site housing stock. (1998)
  • Lead person in the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) responsible for monitoring and guiding the Abbottsford Homes Tenant Management Corporation (AHTMC) to ensure contract compliance and maintain HUD management performance standards. (1991-1993)
  • Lead person in the PHA for developing the action plans to achieve the Public Housing Management Assessment Program (PHMAP) indicators for the Conventional Sites Department. (1992)
  • Selected Outstanding Young Man of America for 1989 in recognition of outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership ability and exceptional service to the community.
  • Founder of LAB III & Associates, Inc. (http://www.lab3.com/), which is a family owned corporation that provides services in business management, product sales and marketing, import and export, and growth management consultation. (1985)
  • Recognized by the Public Housing Managers of the Housing of Louisville for Dynamic Leadership as Director of Management. (1985)
  • Lead person in the Housing Authority of Louisville for implementing its project based management program and automating its routine on-site task. (1984)
